I'm Not Done Growing Yet!

On my way to work today (in my basement), the word "resiliency" popped into my head, like a flashing neon light.

There are many things going on in my life professionally and personally. Family and work are really chaotic these days. I can sense that my body and mind are operating at full speed and I know that times like these require that I be more diligent about checking in with my "Self-Care" practices (which, by the way, tend to slip like crazy when I'm at capacity in both spaces of my life) and ensure that I am being more assertive with my "me time" and intentional about practicing compassion (to myself and others). As I checked in with myself today about this...the word "Resiliency" popped into my head.

On that topic, I am going to note a few things that I am going to DO in order to ensure I am tending to my own personal resilience during this time of change, stress and chaos:

1) I will remember the purpose: Why do I do what I do? I am all about lifting others up for the good of the system, because it is our shared humanity that I believe we can achieve bigger/better impact. Check! I know my "Why" and feel harmony between what I do every day, what I value and who I am as a person!

2) I will connect with others: Maintaining open connection with others during hard times is about being vulnerable. I notice that when I am vulnerable and open to others, they empathize with me. Then I know that I am not alone, and I feel stronger because of our shared humanity.

3) I will take notice of my fears and figure out a way to be with them, versus be "owned by" them. I will note my fears and work to re-frame them in a manner that creates power for me so I can continue to live my purpose.

4) I will believe in my ability to evolve. I've gotten this far, and I know I will continue to make mistakes and learn along the way. I will give myself the grace and space to keep at it – because I am not done growing yet!

So, what about you?

What makes you feel strong and resilient in the face of chaos and change?

What can you practice today that will remind you of your strength and help you maintain resiliency?
